Acuity Scheduling vs PackOffice

Acuity Scheduling is a polished, flexible booking page with intake forms, packages and prepaid payments, priced in US dollars. It is a scheduler, so most Australian trainers pair it with Xero or QuickBooks for invoices, GST and the BAS. PackOffice is built only for dog trainers and does the booking, the classes, the payment plans and the books in one place, in Australian dollars.

The short version
  • Choose Acuity if you mainly need a polished client-facing booking page with intake forms and package sales, and you are happy to keep invoicing and accounts in Xero or QuickBooks.
  • Choose PackOffice if you want bookings, classes with waitlists, payment plans, GST invoices and bank matching in one system, priced in Australian dollars with GST included.

What Acuity does well

Credit where it is due. Acuity's booking page is polished and very flexible. It is strong at intake forms and at selling packages and memberships, takes payments through Stripe, Square or PayPal on every plan, and supports group classes. It has a 7-day free trial with no card needed, and pricing is by calendar rather than per person.

Where the time goes

Acuity handles the booking. Invoices, programs, payment plans, class rosters, matching payments and the GST figures still happen somewhere else, by hand or in a second app. A working trainer's own practice put that work at about 70 minutes per new client, most of which PackOffice does for you.

Switching from Acuity

Bring your client list across as a CSV file, from Acuity or from your own spreadsheet, and import it into PackOffice. Then set up your services and let bookings already made in Acuity run out there while new ones come into PackOffice. Founding trainers have the import done for them on a two-hour setup call. How switching works.
